About Me

My photo
Too many written poems, short stories, essays, op-eds and columns... Someday, somehow; I'll find the way to organize, collect and post them in this blog... Thanks be to God and I'd became a campus journalist, member of a collegiate official student publication (VOICE), College Editors Guild of the Philippines (CEGP) guilder and an activist... I learned not to write only for myself but for the masses...

alay lakad... alay para kanino?

(21 April 2011- Maundy Thursday Alay Lakad) If this sea of humanity seen in the streets will step their feet for genuine change, will collectively act for the common good, a better Philippines will rise... kaso ilang campus journalists pa lang(which is wala pa sa 1/8 nung mga nag-alay lakad...) noong June 30, 2006 CEGP NDA na nagpunta sa mendiola upang magdasal at mag-alay ng bulaklak ay agaran at marahas nang itinaboy ng kapulisan (dun pa lang umalma na ang gobyerno).

Maybe I'd written these due to TV exposure - Jose Rizal film aired in the Lenten Season Special of GMA 7 and my exposure to the tyranny being brought by the present heads governing my nation, no difference with the Spanish regime (krus o espada) which once hit the Philippines.

I believe in revelation, but not in revelation which each religion claims to possess... but in the living revelation which surrounds us on every side — mighty, eternal, unceasing, incorruptible, clear, distinct, universal as is the being from whom it proceeds, in that revelation which speaks to us and penetrates us from the moment we are born until we die. - J.P.Rizal

Today is Christmas Eve. Whether or not Christ was born exactly on this date is not important. But chronological accuracy has nothing to do with tonight's event. A grand genius had been born who preached truth and love; who suffered because of his mission; and on account of his sufferings the world has become better, if not saved. Only it gives me nausea to see how some people abuse his name to commit numerous crimes. If he is in heaven, he will certainly protest! - J.P.Rizal

If all those who walked in the streets donated a peso in the Catholic church, it is assured that the church profited hundred times compared to a worker like me and more than a hundred times to those street sweepers cleaning the participants' trash last night. Granting that they walked for their beliefs, I hope that it do really cleansed their souls... I'm not being antagonistic in their tradition, a tradition from our previous colonizers which was used to fool our forefathers for Spain's pleasure, but just a hoping person that someday, they will not only walk for their own salvation but for the salvation of the nation against tyranny, poverty and unjustice. Wishing that they will not only be out there sweating due to extensive travel from different provinces just to offer flowers and money for the idolized wooden woman in the cathedral but someday, somehow, they will also be out there sweating and thirsty for a true free Philippines.
